I WILL attend the 2012 Monte Carlo Nationals, thanks to the generosity of Rob (Minnesota), who offered to pick me up. He will be here (Illinois) LATE Wednesday (06/27/2012) night (11p-ish); we should arrive in JOHNSON CITY TN ~2p Thursday w/his 1972 MC in tow. If you're in the area, stop by:

That's most definitely an unrefusable offer. This Rob guy is obviously a pretty cool fellow. I won't make it to Johnson City and I know you won't have control of route or schedule but...

The route DeLorme showed me goes through Louisville and it's not unthinkable that you might opt for I-74+I-75 through Cincy instead of I-65+I-64 through Louisville. It's also not unthinkable that I could touch either of those routes. (Louisville is <100 mi from here.) Thoughts?

It was an unrefusable offer ... and I'm glad I took it. It was a wonderful time ... until I got home (will post about that in a bit).

Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up with you after all. As it turns out, of course, we probably should have tried for early Thursday morning. It wasn't until over the weekend that we decided to try the alternative, "less mountainy" route home. Sure hope we can meet someday, Denny!
