OK, who's making a road trip this upcoming weekend, and where are ya headed?
The wife and I are headed north to the Washington D.C area to spend the weekend with old friends.

23 Years in the U.S. Navy, Married to a great gal with 2 great kids, Love to travel and have been to most parts of the world. 5 continents and 36 countries (Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Canada, China, Croatia, Djibouti, Egypt, England, France, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Italy , Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, Portugal , Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Singapore, Slovenia, Somalia, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, The Vatican City) and 35 U.S. States. Love to ride my Harley. Best ride yet has been our coast to coast to coast trip from Va Beach, out Route 66 to California, and back.

Not much for this weekend (and what is planned for tomorrow might end up being by train instead of car depending on how much snow falls), but a few days ago I did finish planning a trip down US 49 for August, so at least there is something to look forward to in the 'New Year'.

Well the wife has a Conference to attend in Chicago in July, so we have decided to make a road trip out of it. We will drive from Va Beach to Erie Pa to see her family for a few days, then drive to Chicago for a 3 day stay. After that we are going to drive the one section of Route 66 we haven't been on yet, Chicago to St. Louis. Then back to Va Beach. When all is said and done, it will be about a 2,200 mile, 10 day road trip. I'm pretty psyched about it. Really excited about getting back on the Mother Road again, even though that's just a small part of the trip.
