For those of you not on the 66 Egroup, Rod Harsh posted a ditty about efforts to make the "ribbon road" between Miami and Afton a scenic byway...here is the post:

I just posted this video clip of tonight's local news on Google Video:

regarding the "Ribbon" road, a one-lane stretch of 66 just south of
Miami, OK., and that town's interest in becoming Route 66 Pro-Active by
erecting a monument downtown to recognize The Mother Road.

This clip should be shown to communities that are slow to jump on the
Route 66 bandwagon. The message: "If you don't start soon, you will be
competing for Route travelers in other nearby communities".
