A center like this would be good to help all of us when attempting to travel the US Route 6. The people along the route should realize that no matter where on the highway the center is located, it will be a boost for their tourism as well. Hope this is not the end of the plans.

Hello Dave:
The proposed National Museum and Visitors Center is part of our cultural preservation and economic development program. The Master Plan still stands. We are now looking for that special Route 6 community that would be interested in working with us.
The U.S. Route 6 Tourist Assn. is not in the real estate business. The National facility would be owned and operated by a local Not-for-profit IRS 501 © (3). Our Board of Directors would sign an agreement of support acknowledging that the National Museum would work with regional museums in all of the 14 Route 6 states.
Recent interest has come from existing museums in the western states.
Holyoke, Colorado
Green River and Delta, Utah
Santa Clarita and Lancaster, California
If you know of an organization that may be interested, have them contact me at RussUSRoute6@aol.com
We are also looking for a new Executive Director of Museum and Visitor Centers.
If anyone is interested in old US 6 maps, pictures, etc. (prior to 1956) they can email us at ArchivesUSRoute6@aol.com
Thanks for your interest in the Grand Old Highway.
