Town of Wagener’s Hometown Holiday Celebration

Town of Wagener’s Hometown Holiday Celebration continues in the Norman Rockwell’s Small Town USA theme this year. While, there will be special events kicking off on Friday evening and continuing through Saturday evening.

Catch special performances at the Pavilion from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 6. In addition, the annual tree lighting at dusk and Fireworks will be displayed at the end of the evening’s activities. Also, crafts on display and for sale in the park starting at 5:30 p.m. Come to the Tree Lighting ceremony followed by a Fireworks Extravaganza around 7:30 p.m.

Blackleg Acres provides Horse and Carriage rides from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 6. So, ride around town and view the decorations and lights. Board at the Gazebo. Unfortunately, this year the Wagener Museum remains closed due to damages suffered during a hurricane. Therefore, no visits to the Wagener museum during the weekend, however, Cynthia Hardy will have some museum pieces featured in the park.

The annual Christmas Parade begins at 11 a.m. Dec. 7. So, register in advance to enter a float in the parade or in person at Town Hall. Call the Town Hall at 803.564.3412. Groups participating in the parade need to be at the Busbee/Corbett School by 10 a.m. to line up.
